UpToHear is an indie music blog that offers honest music reviews by multiple contributors. Keep in mind that everyone has their own, unique musical tastes, so while something may not appeal to us, that does not mean it will not appeal to someone else. Because of this, please do not be offended if we do not approve your submission.
We will not approve songs that are older than a week. If you do not have a bio, you should make one. We are a blog, after all, and we sometimes need your bio in order to actually blog about you. And while we are reasonably crafty with markers and crayons, please include some current photos– track art will not suffice.
Our blog is listed on Hype Machine, so we try to share your music via Bandcamp or Soundcloud links, in addition to Spotify, Apple, etc. By doing so, Hype Machine has better control over indexing any of the music that we post, which ultimately means more exposure for you.
Ready to submit a track? Send photos (and photog credits), track art, song links, release date, and bio to uptohearmusic@gmail.com. If your submission does not include all of these, we cannot feature your music. For more details on the kinds of sounds we like, peruse this interview.
