yoomcircle - “How Did We Make It”

After spending a great deal of time as a big band arranger, jazz guitarist, and composer, yoomcircle has decided to completely blow everyone away with his vibey psychedelically-tinged debut single, “How Did We Make It.”

Completely recorded in his bedroom, yoomcircle has taken advantage of a wide array of sounds, including an ultra-punchy 1970s-imbued rhythm section and a host of analog synth tones. All of these are present and accounted for as soon as you press play, beginning “How Did We Make It” with a wide and robust, full-band arrangement. The mood is light-spirited and chill, while still encouraging you to get your feet tapping.

What absolutely sold us on this track is the spectacular vocal performance, which primarily resides in a reverberating upper register, ticking all of our boxes for the genre. From early Tame Impala to the work of John Lennon, music fans are going to find something they love within yoomcircle’s layered vocal work. The shift to the hook is a true delight, and the brief, synth-lined breaks that follow bring the track a wondrous sense of ebb and flow.

How Did We Make It” has been packed with such a melodic wallop that you won’t even notice its near five-minute duration, letting the middle eight veer into experimental territory, with bass grooves and synth flourishes that will leave you wanting more. The song’s climax is a jam-packed chorus with layer upon glorious layer of vocal melodies and we have not been able to stop playing it since yoomcircle sent it over to us.

For a debut single, “How Did We Make It” will be hard to top, but please join us in looking forward to every release that yoomcircle sends our way.
