Francisco Sola - “Warning Signs”

Like clockwork, Buenos Aires-based singer-songwriter Francisco Sola arrives on our blog with another wonderfully folksy creation: “Warning Signs.”

This new cut is built upon a loop of brushed snare and acoustic guitar, both of which guide the listener along a production that permeates a hypnotic and meditative vibe. Some thick bass rounds out the arrangement, but as the title suggests, the rhythm is upbeat enough to bring about a sense of urgency.

The spotlight, of course, shines brightly upon Sola’s vocal performance and, once it arrives, we are quickly reminded of why we never say no to his music. His voice has the ability to dig deeply beneath your skin, causing you to feel whatever emotion it wishes.

Above the relentless groove that has been forged by the percussion and the acoustic guitar, moments of ear candy are kindly dispersed. From the ghostly notes of a lead guitar, to the subdued sounds of a horn section, Sola’s vocal is elegantly juxtaposed by additional breezy melodies.

In its four minute duration, “Warning Signs” showcases Francisco Sola’s exquisite craft, combining a seemingly simply foundation with masterfully placed layers of vocals. The end result is a tune that you truly do not want to miss.
