New York-based B.Miles captivates with the alluring, dark and meditative indie pop track, “Too Close To The Flame.”

Too Close To The Flame” is a rhythmically playful composition with an infectious bouncing groove. Loose, hypnotic and richly intense in all the right ways. It exquisitely animates the lyrics that explore a forbidden, dangerous, yet irresistible relationship charged with desire.

The song is dressed in a moody, muted palette. Every element is texturally sensual and gorgeously seductive. Pulsing dreamy pads and caramel toned guitars dance in what feels like a cross between Lana Del Rey’sHigh by the Beach,” Taylor Swift’s “Lavender Haze” and Darkside’s “Golden Arrow.” Just with no elliptical jams of psychedelic detours. Yet the music serves the same purpose. A piece of music to lose yourself in.

B.Miles serves up a sophisticated, alluring and smouldering vocal performance across the track. The performance never breaks free from its intimate tone yet it evokes the sense of a Siren luring Odysseus toward the rocks. Lush, irresistible but also quietly dangerous.

Despite being musically restrained and muted in tone, “Too Close To The Flame” is incredibly catchy and danceable built on an addictively good groove. The song is taken from the forthcoming new album, Time Doesn’t Heal. It Hides, slated for release November 14th.

On the forthcoming album, B.Miles adds: “It’s been ten years since I released my first EP, Twenty Fifteen. In the years since, I’ve chased songs—but I’ve also noticed a theme, one that’s burned itself into too many lyrics. Most of what I’ve written over the last decade feels like smoke leading me back to the same flame…

The songs I’ve written since seem to fold into that EP, like they were always part of the same story. Which is why, ten years later, that EP—and a handful of songs I’ve carried with me—have become something larger. Something that’s been hiding in plain sight all along. Together, these songs form an album that tells the story I’ve been circling for a decade.”
