B.Miles - “Different Pages”

B.Miles once again appears on our blog with her latest and greatest dose of indie pop: “Different Pages.”

The song begins with some studio chatter that lets the listener know they’re in for a pretty good time. And once that vibey guitar sets up shop, one only needs to wait a few, brief moments before the beat drops and kicks you directly in the hindquarters. This is not the brand of pop music that we usually feature on the blog, but, as we’ve stated in the past, when you have a voice like B.Miles, we’re going to write about anything you send us.

The way B.Miles delivers the lyrics will sound familiar to some and groundbreaking to others. Her vocal performance in “Different Pages” is soft when she needs it to be, but remains consistently confident throughout. What is interesting is the way she uses her voice to tell your ears when the song shifts from verse to chorus, as the driving rhythm of the track seldom lets up. She effortlessly glides in and out of alternate melodic universes and we see this song doing very well in a car, with the windows down, or on any dance floor.

With “Different Pages,” B.Miles announces her second LP of the same name, due for release on September 30th. Be sure to add this one to your summer playlists.
