Moss Manor - “Windowin’”

Windowin” is a stunner of a song from Moss Manor, a group consisting of Seth Bernard, Michael Dause, and Dan Rickabus, based in Michigan. The song begins with a serene soundscape of what I believe is wind chimes. The introduction is tranquil, with as acoustic guitar slowly emerging from the sounds, accompanied by a slow and steady rhythm from the bass and drums, creating a mellow mood.

The two acoustic guitars form the backbone of the song, and their interplay is gorgeous to listen to as they dance around each other. The use of crying, reverbed guitar sounds in the background adds depth and emotion to the melody, crafting a lush and immersive soundscape.

Each instrument in “Windowin’” plays an important role in the song, with none of them ever stealing the show. The bass is slow, but has a nice feel, providing a steady pulse to the production. The drumbeat is understated, but drives the music forward. The vocal performance is soft and relaxed, with the backing vocals providing gentle support to the main vocal. The piano melody that fills the odd section of the song is a standout feature for me, as it contributes significantly to the overall melody and creates a memorable moment within the song.

Windowin” is a gorgeous and cohesive piece of music. At 2:30 minutes in length, I can guarantee after the first play, you will want more of it.
