Sisters - “Through the Cracks”

We grew up listening to Jason Blackmore’s vocals in Molly McGuire, particularly the Lime LP, so it is our civic duty to tell you about his new project: Sisters. Blackmore has teamed up with Spotlights’ Mario Quintero in order to deliver unto this world some of the grittiest guitar riffs you’ll ever hear.

From their album, Leecheater, due out on August 25th, we have received the track, “Through the Cracks,” which very literally sounds like a massive wall of fuzz and distortion. One should not be fooled by the muted riff at the song’s beginning, but, instead, interpret it as a warning that you are about to use your desk or dashboard as a drum set.

Through the Cracks” has every bit of that analogue sound that we crave, with swells of guitar feedback and a bass line that is so dirty you’ll need a shower after it enters your ears. They just don’t make music like this anymore. Instead of a copy/ paste job for verses and choruses, you are being injected with a performance that sounds as though the band is delivering it from a stage.

If you frequently partake in music from artists such as Local H or Failure, you will feel right at home once you press play on this thing.
