Sianon - “Halfway Home”

Melbourne-based singer-songwriter Sianon is back on the blog with “Halfway Home,” a song that was cowritten and produced by blog favorite Hayden Calnin.

“HHalfway Home” begins with a remarkable duet that consists of softly strummed guitar and the ghostly notes from a piano. The vibe is deliciously melancholic and intimate– immediately nailing the center of our niche for raw and vulnerable folk music.

The vocal performance of Sianon follows suit, imbuing “Halfway Home” with a glorious sense of authentic storytelling, as well as unfiltered emotion. Fans of Phoebe Bridgers and Aurora will feel right at home as Sianon dynamically traverses the trials of “navigating the music industry as a young female.”

The track maintains a reasonably sparse production, allowing the spotlight to shine on Sianon’s voice, effortlessly rising from a breathy delivery to an astounding falsetto, then wonderfully doubled on the refrain. But as “Halfway Home” progresses, more elements are layered into the arrangement, including some distant percussion, shimmering electric guitar, and swells of orchestral strings.

Complete with an epic crescendo on the big finish, “Halfway Home” is determined to spiritually move its listener, just as the other work from this rising talent. Be sure to give it a listen and connect with Sianon online: Instagram | TikTok | Facebook | Spotify
