Seba Safe - “Rainy”

The brand new EP, Rainy, from Galway-based singer-songwriter Michael D'Alton, aka Seba Safe, is a handful of glorious and enchanting tunes. We’ve already featured “I Wonder” on the blog, but let us, for a moment, divert your attention to the title track.

Rainy” begins with a bit of studio chatter before bursting into a very distinct indie pop sound, complete with guitar, keys, and creamy rhythm section– obvious signs that the track was performed by actual, living and breathing human beings. While the previous “I Wonder” focused on a much more ethereal atmosphere, this one provides the corner pieces to Seba Safe’s sound, delivering to your ears a production that is much more bright and upbeat.

Contrary to the song’s title, “Rainy” is bound and determined to fill your heart with rays of sunshine as it bounces directly into your soul. And though it’s that time of year where we find ourselves hoping for anything but rainy weather, this track, ironically, is nothing but barrels of summertime vibes. In fact, you would be hard-pressed to find a better soundtrack for cruising alongside the coastline, windows down, with the salt in the air kissing your skin.

As you enter the weekend, be sure to add “Rainy” to your 4th of July playlists– or, better yet, press play on the entire EP and let Seba Safe cater the soundscape of your holiday weekend. With dreamy and gentle vocals and an arrangement that’s been masterfully crafted, anyone within earshot will be eternally grateful.
