Seba Safe - “I Wonder”

From his forthcoming EP, Rainy, Irish songsmith Michael D’Alton, aka Seba Safe, has released the single, “I Wonder.”

There is a prominent cinematic and ethereal feel to “I Wonder,” which is immediately apparent upon pressing the play button. Through multiple layers of reverb, everything from the acoustic guitar and drums, to the backing vocals and synth pad sound immense. And it is not difficult to imagine this song as part of the soundtrack to either your next favorite film or your next road trip to nowhere.

Although the production is dense, Seba Safe has left plenty of room to spoon-feed us his delightful vocals, which have been wonderfully doubled here. Fans of Old Sea Brigade or Tired Pony will find themselves right at home amidst the softness of D’Alton’s raw and honest voice. At about ninety seconds in, our ears are suddenly met with an uptick in the rhythm, bringing a sense of urgency to the production, without completely flooding the listener with anxiety– right up our alley.

I Wonder remains at this elevation for the rest of its duration. And believe us when we say that the only thing missing here is more music, so keep your ear to the ground for the EP’s release date…. Or catch Seba Safe live:
