Punk Rock Saturday IV

We hope that you’ve enjoyed a month full of Punk Rock Saturdays! It has been a complete blast and total pleasure to feature all of these kickass bands… But we’re not done just yet!

This week, please put your fists together for The Moröns, from Calgary, Canada! These guys have just released their sophomore album, The Book of Morön, on High End Denim, with notable cuts “Southwood” and “Ride or Die” already earning points around the globe, but the song that we really want you to hear right now is their cover of Whitney Houston’s “I Wanna Dance With Somebody.” We all think it’s absolutely fantastic when a band can take someone else’s hit and completely make it their own. And once you are finished jamming to this one, cruise over to YouTube and check out their cover of “So Lonely,” by The Police!

But wait! There’s more! From Santa Cruz, CA, the melodic punk band Give You Nothing have announced their recent signing to People of Punk Rock Records, with an album coming in October and the first single already here for your listening pleasure. It’s called “The Hardest Part” and these guys love you so much that they went ahead and created an official video for their listeners. All you have to do is press play, which is pretty easy for being ‘the hardest part.’ I’m here all week… Anyhoo…. Check it out!

Finally, we have the five piece punk outfit Sloth Fist from Dallas, TX. With their latest single, the group takes the sheer agony of trying to audition for a band who is obviously looking for members “more in their age range.” The track is titled “Too Old to Rock” and it will blister the inside of your f’ing skull if you’re not too careful. This is actually the second single from their upcoming full length, Bombs Away. The first, “Cut It Through,” is also completely worth the time it takes you to spin it!

Until next time, stay hydrated, get plenty of rest, and, for the love of all that is holy, put down your phone and pick up a guitar.
