MUANH – “already know”

US-born, Hamburg-based Anna Anh, aka MUANH, has just shared the dreamy, intimate pull of “already know.”

We do not often feature songs of the romantic variety, but something very magical is happening in “already know.” Pressing play invites a subdued rhythm into your ears, with an effected guitar spun across the top that evokes the vibes of Purple Rain-era Prince. The swelling synths that eventually appear only deepen this nostalgic ‘80s glow, and one can’t help but imagine this playing on a late-night drive up the coastline.

Anh’s vocal performance fits the track beautifully, with a delivery that is soft, up-close, and reminiscent of Men I Trust, adding a modern sheen to this atmospheric love song. The verses lean into a quiet familiarity that hasn’t fully defined itself, while the hook opens up with a more present rhythm and layered backing vocals. It already feels like the soundtrack to the things you’ve never said out loud.

As far as we’re concerned, it wouldn’t be a throwback to the ‘80s without a little saxophone—and we’re pleased to report that’s exactly what you get as “already know” draws to a close. With hushed vocals, sonic haze, and a modern production that still feels human, this song lands like a memory you can’t let go of.
