Karmila - “Problems with Me” (ft. Collin Stanley)

South Carolina-based artist Karmila has just released the dynamic “Problems with Me,” featuring Collin Stanley. The track is a timeless indie pop/ rock track, filled with expressive vocals and rich guitar layers.

Problems with Me” is built around the driving rhythm of muted, dark toned electric guitar. The pulsing staccato layer satisfyingly builds tension over the verses whilst creating space in the arrangement. Underneath, jangly lead electric guitar dances dreamily and bass pulses, creating a deep warmth whilst drums push forward in a swaggering assertive fashion.

Like all great indie pop/ rock tunes, the music has a stylish ebb and flow that brings a pleasing complexity to the composition. During the chorus sections, the song’s width and dynamics increase, and the textures change to a clean, bright, chugging electric guitar. These lively sections effortlessly die back to the main groove, allowing the tension to build again.

As the song rises out of its last dynamic break, lead guitar is allowed briefly to explore texture and melody as it takes centre stage. The drums take on a harder edge here, helping to build the sense of crescendo and emotion.

Karmila’s singing adopts the traditional indie pop/ rock style for this track. The tones are confident and expressive as they effortlessly demand your attention. The vocals also have some great ear candy moments, whether being panned from left to right or being supported by mesmerising backing layers.

Problems with Me” is a confident and compelling indie pop/ rock song. The dynamic track is brimmed full of gorgeous guitar layers and compelling vocals. This is one not to miss.
