Fiona Fiasco - “Stacy”

From Switzerland, Fiona Fiasco has recently released the hypnotic and folksy rockin’ sounds of “Stacy,” a glimpse into the forthcoming EP, Blue Rider. Blue Faced.

Stacy” is a raw, vintage-tinged spoonful of indie that is chuck-full of authenticity. The arrangement is quite simple, with verses that are built over a sparse rhythm and two-chord bars; however, over the top of this barebones soundscape is the dynamic vocal performance of Fiasco, full of emotion and breathy moments that leave you believing every word.

There is a distinct ‘90s flare to the production, somewhat akin to that of PJ Harvey and, at times, The Cranberries, with glorious moments of cello provided by Selma Aerni, as well as stacked layers of auxiliary vocals that have brought us back to “Stacy” for multiple listens. If you’ve been collecting new tunes for your “traveling home for the holidays” playlist, we highly encourage you to add this one towards the top.

With a dynamic vocal production and heaps of mid-‘90s nostalgia, “Stacy” will leave you wanting more of Fiona Fiasco’s sound, so be sure to keep your ear to the ground for details on the new EP. In the meantime, connect with Fiona Fiasco here: Instagram | Spotify | Bandcamp | TikTok
