Echo Thrills - “Sunshine”

Stockholm, Sweden native Oskar Jennefors, aka Echo Thrills, brings his gloriously psychedelically-charged craft back to the blog via the new single, “Sunshine.”

Pressing the play button invites listeners into a robust, 1970s realm of disco-infused psychedelia. After a brief, otherworldly intro, “Sunshine” bursts to life with a lo-fi beat that drives a flavorful, melodic bass line. Layers of synth and ultra-vibey guitar populate the upper portions of the arrangement, guaranteed to pump some soulful funk into your earthly existence.

Jennefor’s vocal is next to arrive, carrying with it an emotive performance that is deliciously reminiscent of Tame Impala, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, and even the more seductive releases from Beck. The culmination of all these elements on the chorus results in a hook that the Bee Gees will wish they had written. “Sunshine” is a super smooth, mellifluous, and, dare we say, sexy celebration of the joy we can find in love.

Ear candy is delivered by way of divine layers of vocals and vibrant textures of mind-bending sounds. “Sunshine” not only belongs on your feel-good summer playlists, but it deserves the top slot– once you press that play button, you will wholeheartedly agree.
