Luke Francis - “Go Home”

Seattle-based singer-songwriter Luke Francis has just released the heartfelt sounds of “Go Home,” the latest single from his forthcoming LP, Saguaro.

Go Home” opens with some hand-tapped percussion before expanding into the delightfully warm sounds of an acoustic guitar. The finger-plucked pattern is remarkably upbeat, yet sets up the listener for a good dose of introspection, as the song delves into the common depths of internal conflict.

Francis’ vocal performance is delivered in a way that enters your ears honestly and matter-of-factly, almost in a stream of consciousness manner. A delightful harmony joins the arrangement on the refrain, allowing “Go Home” to stretch its arms to the far ends of the sonic landscape. Although the song traverses inner turmoil, it also encourages you to tap your feet to its enchanting rhythmic nature.

Ear candy has been provided by way of some ethereal cries from the pedal steel. The notes glide in and across the production, leaving listeners incapable of resisting its melody. The back half of “Go Home” has been painted with multiple layers of guitars that have brought us back for multiple listens. Even though the arrangement is quite sparsely populated, Francis makes good use of the existing elements, allowing us to find something new to love each time we press the play button.

Francis recorded “Go Home” in collaboration with Abby Gundersen and Harrison Whitford, known for his work with Phoebe Bridgers. The result is a multi-layered, emotional voyage that we simply cannot get enough of. Please join us in anticipating the release of the full record, Saguaro, due out on May 24.
