From Los Angeles, California, singer-songwriter Avery Lynch comes back to us with the haunting and intimate “Lasting Effects,” a track that reflects upon love and loss.
Atop a gently pulsating rhythm, an acoustic guitar is finger-plucked to perfection, leaving in its wake a melancholic and folksy backdrop. Sporadic notes from a piano make their way into the arrangement and for the first fifty seconds, “Lasting Effects” resides along an intimate plane of existence.
From there, the track begins a lush crescendo as more elements are added, which include the magnificent swells of auxiliary vocal textures. These additional layers wonderfully enhance the already astounding main vocal delivery from Lynch– the reason we could not say no to this number.
