A.G. Sully - “Friend of My Dreams”

Alabama-based singer-songwriter A.G. Sully has hit us directly in the feels with the melancholic track, “Friend of My Dreams.”

We are no strangers to grief, as it is why the blog came into existence in the first place, so when we discovered the correlation between “Friend of My Dreams” and the passing of Sully’s furry friend, we could not help but fall completely in love with it. The song begins with a collage of ethereal elements, some seemingly synth-based, others of the vocal variety, but it truly sounds like a dream beneath the jazz-tinged bass notes.

Then Sully’s remarkably heartfelt vocal performance begins and it is completely game-over for your heart. She has one of those voices that has been designed by the universe to find any stray strings that bind together your composure, gently pulling at them until you are completely flooded with emotional memories. That said, “Friend of My Dreams” bears an extremely positive message about platonic love; however, it damn near destroyed us.

This is the first we are hearing from this Alabama songstress, but if she keeps delivering these soulfully melodic, heart-rending compositions, we have a feeling that we’re going to need to purchase more bandwidth. You should press play on “Friend of My Dreams” as a means to celebrate any semblance of love in your life, even if that means conjuring some intense memories.
