Zoya Zafar - “Tunnel Vision”

Pakistan-born, Florida-based singer-songwriter Zoya Zafar debuts on our blog with the endearing sounds of her new single, “Tunnel Vision.”

The song begins all at once, guided by a lo-fi beat that lends support to a lone acoustic guitar. Zafar’s vocal is also present and quite chill and dreamy as she navigates through the tranquility of the first verse. Just before the thirty second mark, you will experience the moment that we knew “Tunnel Vision” belonged on our blog: the hook.

Zafar reaches up into her wonderful falsetto as she delivers the chorus, surrounded by an expanding arrangement that is joined by a veneer of bass and reverberating electric guitar. Subtle vocal doubles meander through the production, letting every listener experience what we believe to be the epitome of a dream pop performance.

A layer of vocal harmonies and mellotron add the finishing touches to the soundscape, wonderfully delicate as “Tunnel Vision” wraps it melodic arms around you. If you’ve been in the market for a new, dreamy track to play on those late night drives to nowhere, your search ends here.

Tunnel Vision” was co-written and produced by Max Helgemo and is the first single from Zoya Zafar’s soon-to-be released LP, Some Songs. Join us in impatiently awaiting its release.
