Windser - “TV”

After retreating to the mountains during the pandemic, California-based Jordan Topf, aka Windser, reemerged with a collection of songs he had written, including the remarkably chill, indie-rock jaunt: “TV.”

No lie, you’re going to love “TV” as soon as you press the play button. A powerful, barebones beat forms the foundation of the tune, with some subdued acoustic guitar fleshing out the arrangement. Sensational ear candy is provided by some digital artifacts that form a stellar ambience for the track’s atmosphere, and it is not long before your ears are filled with the pleasure of some ethereal backing vocals.

The bass arrives just as Topf’s vocal begins, carrying the listener away via a fantastic tale of modern romance: Netflix and chill. You are absolutely going to fall in love with the way he’s layered his voice to ensure that it encompasses the gamut of emotions involved in being completely content with your partner. “TV” comes complete with a hook that will quickly have you singing along, either as a salute to love or as an effort to will it into existence.

About the track, Topf adds: “‘TV was inspired by romance and the progression of spending an entire day with someone you’re obsessed with. The Sunday Netflix and chill. It is probably the most celebratory song I’ve ever written, in this case celebrating someone who you don’t mind staying in bed with all day watching 90s sitcoms.” TV was produced by Jackson Phillips of Day Wave.

We know that you’re going to love what you hear, so we’re going to make it very easy for you to check out Windser’s previous release, “Get Lost.” This track possesses all of the sublime sounds of the previous, but with an upbeat rhythm that will immediately have your feet tapping. This is another chance to further lose yourself in the incredibly diaphanous layers of Topf’s vocal work. Enjoy.
