Israel-based Sivan Levy has just released the immersive and dreamy “When The Winter’s Coming In.” The track is a touching tale of the strength drawn from the wild, colourful wintery skies at a time of great need.

The song begins gorgeously stripped back with mellow synth tones that form a dreamy pad for the track. The atmosphere is mediative and inviting. As the song progresses, a slow drum beat provides forward momentum. One of the more prolific aspects of this track is the use of texture and effects. A stereo delay on the snare provides ear candy whilst enhancing the groove.

As the emotion builds, electric pianos are used to create a pulsing sensation underneath the arrangement. This rippling feel is heightened by the second electric piano that permeates a dazzling wah-wah effect. Electric guitar is also added in order to provide dimension with vivid meditative tones.

As “When The Winter’s Coming In” approaches its crescendo, layers of strings provide a sense of elegance with rich longing sounds. Sivan Levy’s vocals are alluring, intimate, and hauntingly emotive. The dreamlike performance is coated in a lush layer of reverb, giving a sensation of space and depth.

Filled with captivating textures, Sivan Levy‘s “When The Winter’s Coming In” is an epically dark masterpiece. The song is the second single to be released from the EP, side:w, out February 4th
