Timber Choir - “Endlessly”

One of our new favorite folk duos, Timber Choir, have just released another charmingly stripped-back tune: “Endlessly.”

Atop a richly finger-plucked acoustic guitar, the song presents a soft and hopeful vocal that explores “the joy and harmony that is infused into the natural world around us.” Upon pressing play, it is not difficult to imagine yourself sitting on a river’s edge, contemplating the way that, while everything changes, it all remains the same.

Apart from some vocal harmonies, the first section of the song is quite sparse, lending the listener plenty of space for quiet introspection. On the chorus, however, some bass is added to the arrangement as the vocals reach into their upper register. It is here where the harmonies truly shine, bringing a substantial width and richness to the production.

Some ambience falls into place as the song continues, with wonderfully dispersed ear candy provided by the notes of a piano. Gentle percussion emerges, set back in the mix and reverberating to add depth and momentum, ensuring to keep the listener engaged as the song enters its back half. A cello appears and the rhythm becomes more fleshed-out, providing a soft and natural crescendo to the tune.

Timber Choir excel at gently composed music that inspires contemplation, which is precisely why we are more than happy to feature “Endlessly“ here. Additionally, today marks the release of their new EP, Eternity, which is also home to the remarkable sounds of “Mockingbird,” a delicately strummed number that, again, will carry you away on a gentle breeze of cinematic sounds, lush vocal melodies, and a dreamy string arrangement.

We highly recommend that you to listen to Eternity in its entirety:
