The River Indigo - “Irene”

Nashville, Tennessee-based duo Seth and Jenna Herlich, aka The River Indigo, have recently released the dreamy and cinematic sounds of “Irene.”

Set amidst an ethereal soundscape, “Irene” does not wait before taking the listener on a soothing joyride of fresh and sublime sounds. And while the arrangement is densely populated with the dreamlike tones of synths, it somehow manages to firmly grasp an authentic folksy vibe that has left us yearning for more.

Gliding above its glorious collection of otherworldly tones, the listener shall find that “Irene” possesses a fantastic vocal duet from Seth and Jenna, taking turns delivering verses, ultimately joining for celestial moments of harmonization. Their voices appear to have been made for each other and we have absolutely no difficulty believing that their performances have been captured in the same room, using the same microphone.

The final third of “Irene” is marked by a fantastic dynamic shift that shines a spotlight upon some gritty guitar work. This is then followed by a refrain that is sure to become lodged within your head for the rest of the week, reverberating within its melodious splendor.

Irene” marks the first time that we are hearing from The River Indigo, but we guarantee that it will not be the last time that they’re featured on our site. To find out why we’re so sure of this, press that play button.
