SIKADE – “greedy heart”
Oslo, Norway-based Linnea Vestre, aka SIKADE, returns to the blog with the soothing atmosphere of “greedy heart.”
Pressing play invites you into a world that has been built atop layers of gentle ambience, softly strummed acoustic guitar, and the serene arpeggios of a harp. These sounds meditatively wash across you like an indie folk breeze, free of unnecessary digital embellishment.
SIKADE’s vocal performance arrives, and although her delivery is often soft and little more than a breath, she has a way of demanding our attention. Melancholic and coated in a sheet of reverb, her voice is bound to win you over, particularly if you enjoy the sounds of Adrianne Lenker, or Mitski.
This is one of those tunes you cannot listen to without also experiencing. “greedy heart” is the nostalgic song your heart sings every time you make a wish, while simultaneously serving as a quiet confession about who we want to be and who we actually become.
“greedy heart” is now available everywhere.
