Routine Caffeine - “In The End Now”

Louisville, Kentucky-based Routine Caffeine have just released the mesmerizingly beautiful dream pop track “In The End Now.”

This tune opens to gentle and warm electric rhythm guitar. The tones are thoughtful and reflective, creating a strikingly chilled atmosphere. Lead guitar fleshes out the track’s melody, enhancing the mellow vibes. The addition of drums helps to grow the dynamics whilst offering a contrasting, harder edged texture. The feel of the music makes me want to draw comparisons to “Breathe (In The Air)” by Pink Floyd, but that comparison does not do this great song justice.

As the song progresses, the bass begins to sweetly pulsate, creating an irresistible sense of movement. A splash of warbling lead guitar also takes centre stage, helping to create a melancholic musical break that enhances the feeling of ebb and flow. The vocals on “In The End Now” are hauntingly rich and sweet. You are enticed into the composition by the emotive, delicate tones, that almost give you the impression you are dreaming.

The final section of “In The End Now” is a vibrant and lush crescendo that uses the drums and bass to magically build a surging sense of tension and release. Fuzzy textures pan hazily, providing ear candy. Out of this mesmerising sound scaping gloriously emerges the enchanting vocals.

Routine Caffeine describe the meaning behind the track’s lyrics: “This song is about telling someone how you feel, even if you know that might result in “the end” of the relationship. I’ve learned it’s not easier to be quiet and let things go on the way they are when something needs to change. It’s better to talk.”

In The End Now” by Routine Caffeine is a track you will not want to miss. The song is the second offering from their forthcoming EP.
