Rebounder - “Dreamland”

NYC-based indie outfit Rebounder has just released their latest single “Dreamland” off their upcoming debut EP, Sundress Songs. This track is a traditional, laid-back, indie pop song filled with catchy guitar riffs and falsetto vocal lines.

The opening guitar riff kicks of the track and sets the groove for the song. It’s quickly joined by a fizzy guitar layer that also riffs, adding a nice contrasting texture. The song has a really fun groove. The drums provide a steady indie beat whilst the bass gives a good funky pulse.

The vocals have a slightly distorted texture to them in places. The use of falsetto backing vocals and lead vocal response is a really nice touch. The whole delivery feels full of energy. The fizzy guitar steps in for a solo towards the end of the song which I think is a great touch just to hit home some more of the key hooks of the song.

Lyrically, “Dreamland” is a song about wanting to escape from reality and the yearning to close your eyes and wake up in a place where everything is perfect, only to realize that perhaps where you are is where you’re supposed to be.

Overall, “Dreamland” is a well-crafted indie pop song full of catchy hooks and well executed vocal lines. Definitely one to check out.
