Phreakers - “Head’s Not Grown”

Phreakers, a new band from Bristol, have just released their first song, “Head's Not Grown,” which is an introspective, indie-rock homage to being different.

The song is a sweet, little indie arrangement that ultimately develops into a catchy chorus with fuzzed guitar. The rhythmic structure that the drums and guitars provide is superb, and the minimalistic style of the composition and the rhythm is extremely appealing to me. This mix doesn't have many bells and whistles, but that's completely fine because it keeps it true to the style of an indie band performance… And I would even argue that the song doesn’t need any unnecessary glitter of weird vocal effects and the like. “Head’s Not Grown” is an upbeat number and will get your toes tapping and I’d imagine that, in a live setting, it would go down a storm. It also has a great deal of introspective but humorous lyrics, which make me think of Graham Coxon. You should definitely check out this song because you are bound to find that it’s quite catchy.

“Head’s Not Grown” is now available everywhere, including Spotify:
