Miranda and the Beat - “Sweat”

The newest single from Miranda and the Beat, “Sweat,” is a raw, retro, rock’n’roll banger that embraces the repercussions of drinking on a long night out. The song is built around a great, vintage-sounding guitar riff and slow-moving drum beat. The guitars have a raw sound and the drums have a nice heavy thumping swagger.

Sweat” is padded by a dreamy organ/synth that glides into the arrangement giving the music a psychedelic vibe. This is enhanced by the selective uses of unusual sounds and the guitar solo. The solo feels like a wall of raw distorted sound and perfectly complements the subject matter of the lyrics.

The female vocal delivery is raw, but soulful in tone. There is passion in the lyrics as “Sweat” is hollered out. The vocal tone also make think of the great singers of the 1960s.

Overall, “Sweat” is a fantastic song that celebrates the delights of a great night out and the after-effects that come with it with its retro vibe, snappy guitar riffs, and raw vocals.
