Kyle McKearney’s new song “Whispering Pines” (ft. Sarah McKearney) is a powerful slow burning stunner. The song is one of the strongest tracks I have heard recently from the Canadian Alt-Country/Americana scene. It begins with slow, grooving percussion and bass. The acoustic guitar dances around the tune, creating a bright and luscious soundscape, while the electric guitar's subtle yet alluring tones chug along creating some great tones.

The song’s driving force is Kyle McKearney’s impressive vocal, blending country, folk, and bluesy tones. He gives the perfect performance to convey the well written storytelling lyrics. The harmonisation with Sarah McKearney gives the song added depth and strength. The way the two vocals blend further enhances the songs passionate delivery.

The overall tone of “Whispering Pines” nicely encapsulates the essence of Alt-Country/Americana music by being honest and sincere. The song’s lyrics and melodies make it easy to lose yourself within them. This song is taken from Kyle McKearney’s album, A Traveler’s Lament, which will be released on March 31st.
