Lyle de Vitry - “Goldenrod”

From Asheville, North Carolina, Lyle de Vitry arrives on the blog upon the release of his latest indie folk single, “Goldenrod.”

After a bit of nature foley, “Goldenrod” is brought to life with an osculating guitar padding out its underbelly. The warm and enchanting sounds of an acoustic guitar soon appear, exquisitely finger-plucked, providing a delightfully chill, stripped-back world of sonic wonder. It does not take long to become a fan, and we knew we would love the song at just ten seconds into it.

And once the vocal stylings of de Vitry appear, you can say hello to one of your new favorite artists. The multi-tracked performance shall enter your ears as though a cinematic dreamscape, tenderly whisking you away from all of your worldly perils. Deep bass soon arrives, offering a sense of forward momentum, rounding out the arrangement with its vintage-tinged thickness.

Soft keys from an electric piano fall across the production as though mellifluous drops of rain, resulting in the kind of sound that should pair quite wonderfully with those essential moments of introspection. Percussive elements are few and far between, but their presence is welcome just the same, as “Goldenrod” appears to be a friend to all. This is our first glimpse into the world of de Vitry, but we definitely like what we hear and are confident that you will as well.

Goldenrod” arrives ahead of de Vitry’s forthcoming album, Door Within A Dream, and we truly cannot wait until the rest of it is here. Until then, find a comfortable place to rest your weary bones, press play, and let this track ease all of your troubles. Connect with Lyle de Vitry: Instagram | Bandcamp | Spotify
