Livingmore - “Part Of The Talk”

Los Angeles-based Alex Moore and Spencer Livingston, aka  Livingmore, return to the blog with their latest indie pop/ rock concoction: “Part Of The Talk.”

After ten years together, the level of musical chemistry and craft this song delivers to your ears should come as no surprise. “Part Of The Talk” begins with some wide, reverberating guitar chords atop a fully fleshed foundation– it is immediately apparent that this track would win over the crowd of any arena, with easy-to-learn backing vocals to initiate a mass singalong.

The verses shift down to a straightforward rumble, driven reasonably hard by the rhythm section. It is here where Moore begins her remarkable vocal delivery, emotive and confident as she imbues “Part Of The Talk” with an ‘80s-inspired melody. The rhythm ebbs and flows from full steam to half time, instilling the tune with an outstanding sense of dynamic fluctuation.

A major highlight within the track is the lead guitar, provided by Livingston, tastefully suiting the arrangement and providing an ear-worm melody before the production peels away its layers for a brief break. It is here where the rhythm is reduced to a chugging guitar, allowing listeners to catch their breath before surrendering themselves to the back half.

The final third explodes into an energetic wall of sound that begs to be experienced in a live setting– and if you’re in the Los Angeles area, you can do just that when Livingmore celebrate the release of their album, The Garden, at The Echo on February 2nd.
