Troy Lee | Esme White

Orange County-based singer/songwriter Troy Lee is here with his first ever solo release, “Run or Hide.” Given these two options, I’ve chosen to stick around and listen. Great vocals and a sweet melody are the highlight of this amiable tune. Its nice 3/4 saunter is like a calm walk along a river on a sunny day… so peaceful and pleasant. There is a colorful blend of instrumentation with a bit of banjo, lap steel, and harmonica, which add texture to the guitar strumming. We’re hoping to hear much more from this guy in the coming months! Hit play and check it out!

Pearly Gate Crashers” by Esme White is a gripping tune with a bit of grit and tons of fire and flair. Secure your saddle, cuz it’s got a bit of country-folk seasoning to our ears, but this kind of Americana ain’t a bad thing at all, partner. As for the lyrics, White says it’s “a narrative about dying and going to Heaven only to realise God hasn’t been letting anyone in for a a VERY long time!” Where subject matter is concerned, this one is right in our niche, plus if you listen carefully, you might just catch a fleeting glimpse of Fiona Apple in her voice. Stick around for the end and you will be handsomely rewarded with some very fine vocal layering. This is her debut, so we recommend playing it on repeat until she acquires her first million streams:
