Coucou Babe - “Lavenderbees”

For music lovers who vibe with some dreamy psychedelia, you’ve come to the right place. Transatlantic dream pop act Coucou Babe have just revealed their latest single, “Lavenderbees.”

Pressing play allows an ocean of reverberating guitar waves to wash over you. Their magnificent tones are nearly larger than the universe itself as they rise and fall across the soundscape. A lo-fi beat provides a steady backbone as the bass churns out a thick foundation, with remnants of distant synth padding out the arrangement, making it whole.

The sea of sound is parted upon the arrival of the vocals and the lyrics glide into your ears on a multi-layered breeze. Their tones are ethereal and dreamy and it is not at all difficult to imagine them sweeping across an audience at any variety of outdoor music festivals. “Lavenderbees” delicately blurs the line between music and an out-of-the-body experience.

If you find yourself drawn to the sounds of Beach House, Alvvays, and Tennis, you will be right at home letting “Lavenderbees” enter your ears.
