Hannah Harlacher - “Dog Day”

California bred singer-songwriter Hannah Harlacher has just released the stunning indie folk love song “Dog Day.” The track has all the hallmarks of classic pop songwriting. The inviting composition feels like a breath of fresh air, yet contains all of those familiar tones we love to hear.

Dog Day” is built upon the foundation of an incredibly chilled acoustic guitar groove. The tones are rich, slightly warbly, and also effortlessly mellow. As the drums and bass enter, the infectious classic pop vibes come to the fore. The bass creates a delightful sense of bounce whilst the drums push forward at a carefree cadence. The atmosphere is irresistibly upbeat.

The standout musical element is the lead electric guitar, which has a hint of classic Britpop in its expression. The tones are simply sublime. Oozing vibrant colour and bursts of warm, cheerful energy, it really succeeds in elevating “Dog Day” to a new level.

Harlacher’s vocal performance can only be described as simply enchanting. The tones are inviting, sweet and beautifully expressive. The performance is consistently gentle, but has a striking sense of melody and emotional intensity, especially as the song reaches its final stages, with backing layers perfectly enhancing this vibe.

Dog Day” is a track that pays homage to classic songwriting. The song is a true gem and would make the perfect addition to any music lover’s playlist. This one is not to be missed.
