Erika Wester - “Goodbye Let’s Meet Again”

Erika Wester's latest release, “Goodbye Let's Meet Again,” is a beautifully minimal, yet impactful arrangement that draws the listener’s attention to a wonderful vocal performance. The song is built around two clean electric guitars, which provide a warm and inviting atmosphere as they gently pad the track. They each taking their turn to shine, with delicate lead guitar work, but they never steal the spotlight. The drums and bass add a steady and driving rhythm to the production– the snare keeps time whilst the toms develop a groove in all the right places. The bass is deep and warm, giving the song a rich and steady pulse. Wester’s vocals are the real star of the song, with a gorgeous range and delicate quality that give the song the emotional impact it needs. Backing vocals are barely audible, but they do a really great job of adding thickness to the delivery. The stripped-back arrangement of “Goodbye Let's Meet Again” also allows the listener to focus on the lyrics, which are heartfelt and sentimental. The song has a really lovely warmth to it and, for me, is a very confident mix.

The artist says that “Goodbye Let's Meet Again” is “probably my most vulnerable yet… [I] wanted the vocals clear and poignant, and for the instruments to gently carry you.”
