La Faute - “Blue Girl Nice Day”

Take note: La Faute has prepared a song for you that you may not be prepared for. “Blue Girl Nice Day” is a hauntingly beautiful tune that will captivate you while it envelops you in sound and emotion. Don’t ask me what it is about. Don’t ask me what life is about. I don’t have the answer to either, but I can assure you that both are worth experiencing.

This is a stop-you-in-your-tracks song. From the guitar, recorded with the delicious “handling noises,” to the ethereal voice that draws the moisture from my eyes with just a breath, there is just something special going on here… and hear. The sound is enhanced with carefully placed touches of dense reverb and luscious sounds from afar, intermittently invading and retreating. And the lyrics hit me like a beautiful abstract painting or a postmodern poem: “Please don’t make a mistake. It’s gonna hurt me more than you.” That’s just a tiny taste of the lyrics that pull the heart and mind in several directions at once. What a glorious artistic achievement! This is pure gold!
