French Alps Tiger - “Gimme Yeh”

French Alps Tiger‘s “Gimme Yeh” is a slow-burning, genre-defying gem that leaves a lasting impression on the listener. The song is what I would describe as a cross between Mazzy Star, The Velvet Underground and The Stooges, with a raw, yet breathy punkish vocal that perfectly captures the mood of the song.

The guitars create a shoegaze vibe, with dreamy but dirty lines that add to the almost claustrophobic yet liberating feel of the song. The drums and bass push the song into a groove as the song gains its stumbling swagger, creating an addictive yet slow rhythm.

As the song progresses, the punk vibes start to come more to the front from the musical elements. The sounds become more strung out and melodically chaotic. “Gimme Yeh” builds to a crescendo that is both intense and captivating, leaving the listener wanting more.

Gimme Yeh” is a captivating song that is full of atmosphere. Check it out and if you like it, make sure you lend your ears to their debut collection of songs, Switch Off All The Time.
