Freedom Fry - “If The World Was Mine”

Freedom Fry's latest release, “If The World Was Mine,” is a feel-good retro-inspired tune that is bound to put a smile on your face. The upbeat percussion and groovy bass guitar are reminiscent of 1960s British pop/rock… but it also has a timeless quality and could easily have been released in the 1990s. The acoustic guitar and various pad sounds add an extra layer of rhythm to the song. I like the attention to detail in the production, such as the occasional tapping on a piano key. The song has character and is kooky.

The male and female vocals are harmonious and blend together seamlessly, creating a smooth and soothing sound. The harmonies are never overbearing and the singers never take their performance too seriously, allowing the song to shine in its own right. The lyrics are a feel-good, yet slightly bittersweet reflection on living in an imagined ideal world, and the song itself is a perfect representation of this. “If The World Was Mine” is a timeless tune that’s definitely worth a listen.
