Eden Rain - “All Things Change”

London-based indie-pop artist Eden Rain finds her way back onto the blog with her latest single, “All Things Change.”

The soft notes of a synthy keyboard begin this number, providing a moving atmosphere as a backdrop for Eden’s heartfelt vocal performance. And upon the arrival of her voice, some gentle plucks of a guitar emerge, carefully accentuating the inflections of her lyrics– all of this provides a divine vehicle for the subject matter, which touches upon the drama of life amidst the pandemic.

The arrangement grows in intensity as more elements appear, including additional guitar chords strummed at the top of the bar, but an impressive highlight is the use of layered vocals on the refrain. And if you’ve been paying attention to the music that we tend to feature, you’ll know that we find it very difficult to resist multiple tracks of vocals, which have been executed here with great precision.

By the time “All Things Change” settles into its final third, the production has expanded to saturate the entire soundscape. And while the instrumental has been very well performed, it is, of course, Eden’s vocal that has completely won us over. She has an unmistakeable gift when it comes to conveying emotion within a melody, and this track is irrefutable evidence of that.

All Things Change” arrives ahead of Eden Rain’s forthcoming EP, But I’m Alright Now, due for release on November 24th.
