CRUZ, a review of “Life of Misery”

Blaring indie guitar tone? Bouncing, valve-driven vocals? Harmonies sprinkled deep inside all the right places, like Parmesan, falling into the perfect cracks and crevasses of an explosive, musical salad? “Life of Misery” will feed your entire party!

CRUZ consists of Sam, Tom, Simon, and Jamie, four lads from Sheffield, South Yorkshire. “Life of Misery” was released a couple weeks ago and, though it is the band’s only available single to date, it is already doing quite well on Spotify, reeling in over 1,240 monthly listeners, which, as most of us know, is no small feat for newcomers. Hey! 1,241 now! You’re welcome!

I cannot decide if this song makes me want to dust off my skateboard or get drunk and prank call my former employer, but it would go great with either. While its formula is not revolutionary, “Life of Misery” will fit securely on the soundtrack to any decent revolution. I cannot freaking wait to hear more from these guys!

Take note: These indie rockers definitely have their shit together! They sent us multiple photos, lyrics, WAV, and a press release. The bar has officially been raised and now we are spoiled AF. Maybe life isn’t so miserable after all…
