Cosacchi - “Flowers”

Cosacchi from Portland, USA, has just released the atmospheric and evocative indie folk track, “Flowers.”

Built on the warmth and gentle flow of fingerpicked acoustic guitar, “Flowers” is a reflectively intimate composition. It soothingly immerses you in arresting musical layers that slowly unfold with contemplative backwards noises, glowing flares of electric guitar, sustained piano, and airy flute. Many of these lush developments are subtle, ambient, and charming, much like watching clouds drift by, yet we are also given blissfully rousing trumpet lines that inject a timeless vintage quality.

Complementing the emotional fabric of the song are the warm, breathy vocals of Cosacchi. Soft spoken, achingly tender and completely devastating, the performance sounds like a cross between Andy Shauf and Jim Croce in style. Lyrically, the words flow like a stream of consciousness. They are poetically vivid and shrouded in melancholy

Flowers” has not been crafted for a passive listening experience and it isn’t a track that can be casually added to a playlist and forgotten about. It is a piece of music that is designed to be felt; it lingers with you, inviting you to sit in a moment of sublime bittersweet beauty.
