Cam Kahin - “try again”

Cam Kahin’s latest release, “try again,” is a passionate and energetic indie cut that draws inspiration from post-punk and classic rock ‘n’ roll. The driving guitars immediately grab your attention, with their powerful sound… for me, it also gives the track a hint of the 1950s and classic rock ‘n’ roll. The guitars push the song forward and create a sense of urgency that perfectly complements Kahin’s versatile vocals, which are a real standout here. There is a raw, punk-like energy in the delivery that moves effortlessly from shouting to sweet harmonies, adding an extra layer of depth and contrast to the song.

The backing vocals nicely support the sweeter melodies without overpowering them. The drums and bass provide a solid foundation for the song, driving the rhythm forward and giving the track a sense of momentum that never lets up until the rhythm change near the end. The overall production is excellent, with all the different elements blending together seamlessly to create a cohesive and well-crafted track. In terms of style, “try again” has a certain Elvis Costello vibe to it. All in all, it’s a great track ticking all the boxes for a killer indie rock tune.
