Beach for Tiger - “I Don’t Wanna Stay”

Beach for Tiger from London, United Kingdom, have just released the slow-burning disco track, “I Don’t Wanna Stay.”

Smooth, velvety, and effortlessly cool, “I Don’t Wanna Stay” is the sound of lounge disco crossed with the early, hazy melancholy of 1970s R&B. This composition though is lusher and less zesty than Jamiroquai and more danceable and buzzing than Marvin Gaye’s “What’s Going On.” It is perfect for those seeking a touch of glamour and getting lost in late night grooves.

The track is built around a hypnotic four-on-the-floor beat and suave bassline. Exceptionally tight but at the same time loose and cosy, making it perfect to either chill out to with a Piña Colada, or to cut some flamboyant, sensual shapes on the dance floor. Stylishly dressing the beat are soft arrangements of synths and electric guitars. There is no urgency to the sultry sound scaping, instead it reflectively lulls you into a dreamlike mood. This state of mind only breaks into something more confident when the vibrant and tastefully indulgent trumpet solos hit.

With a hint of cool detachment and quiet yearning, the tender, sincere vocals glide naturally across the glossy production. Feeling almost like a heartfelt, late-night confession, the delivery gives a pleasant emotional weight to the lyrics which the band describe as detailing the “internal conflicts of confronting mortality whilst juggling the last fragments of youthful excitement for the world.”

Light, breezy and musically brimming full of a carefree optimism, “I Don’t Wanna Stay” is 3 minutes and 43 seconds of pure, sleek, sexy fun. The track is taken from Beach for Tiger’s forthcoming album. Connect with Beach For Tiger: InstagramSpotify | Facebook | Bandcamp
