“Little Black Diamond” - Rocky Votolato

Rocky Votolato has returned after a seven-year absence and it has been worth the wait. He has created a warm, sentimental earworm with his new single "Little Black Diamond." This song is taken from Wild Roots (out September 9th), which is an "intimate concept album.” Each song on this new album is a letter of memories to the people he loves the most.

Rocky displays impeccable songcraft. Lyrically, “Little Black Diamond” takes us on a poetic journey, conveying a story that is full of joyful memories. It is well arranged and mixed, with Rocky bringing a vocal that is both familiar and full of melancholy, yet joyful feelings. The playing is flawless on this latest record and sonically reminds me of the more acoustic works by 1970s bands, like Bread.

Don’t forget to connect with the artist online and mark September 9th on your calendar. You can also catch him live: 11/3 - Tacoma, WA @ ALMA, 11/4 - Portland, OR @ Polaris Hall, and 11/5 - Seattle, WA @ Tractor Tavern.
