The Utopiates - “Illuminise”

Wake up folks, the day is waiting for you! If you’ve ever gone to the cupboard and found that you’ve run out of coffee grounds, you know you’re gonna need a substitute pick-me-up to get yourself moving out the door for an emergency cup of Joe.

Relax… We have just the thing for you…

Lively and funky, “Illuminise” from The Utopiates is a spritely tune with tons of hooks built atop a pounding drum groove that will keep you awake enough that you won’t drive into a ditch on the way to your secondary source of black gold. This song has great vocals, plenty of attitude and a big, polished sound. A big drum break, followed by some synth funkiness and a wild guitar solo, spice up this already flavorful jam.

The Utopiates add: "‘Illuminise’ is a 70s Bowie-inspired funk track with a touch of Daft Punk and the aggression of Sleaford Mods. Written around Josh’s wonky guitar hook we ran with the theme of being untouchable. Dan’s own experience of negative friendship’s and all the bullshit that goes with it was unleashed into this 3-minute banger. We’re rising up, don’t be green."

For those of you who haven’t seen the video for “Illuminise,” we can remedy that situation right now:
