Tucker Bingo - ‘Crypto Shock’

Tucker Bingo from Philadelphia has delivered a little beauty with his new release Crypto Shock.

"Bruce Bacci" kicks off this release. A classic indie disco drum beat collides with jangling guitars for this short burst of glory. Tucker Bingo’s laid-back vocal delivers instantly catchy and simple lyrics that will want you to put this one on repeat. It's also good to hear a lead guitar solo within a song, which only adds to the retro charm of this release.

"Kensington Ave" again has an addictive drum beat, but this time it is punctuated by piano chords. The live feel of this song is simply cool. It is simply lo-fi shoegaze meets indie disco. There is a late 1960s Rolling Stones vibe in this song... "Let's Spend the Night Together" comes to mind.

"Animal" concludes this release on the similar driving drum beat that has thrashed through these delightful numbers. Piano keys warmly walk up and down alongside the vocals. The song is brilliantly minimal. The only other element is the scratchy rhythm guitar. The song fades, leaving the listener wanting more.

This one is for the music fan who has a soft spot for retro charm and bewitchingly simple but clever instrumentation.
