Laveda - “Troy Creeps”

Laveda’s “Troy Creeps” is a sleek indie-rock song that has addictively good guitar tones and tasteful synth splashes. This track is engaging and dynamic and definitely one of the better songs I have come across recently. The song is built on a foundation of relentless pulsing from muted clean guitar chords, creating an irresistible groove that is further pushed by the driving drums and pulsating bass. The synth sounds that spiral in and out of the song add a nice, otherworldly feel, giving the sense that the track is about to take off. And when it does, the chorus sections are particularly satisfying, with the guitars driving harder and no longer muted.

Throughout the song, the female vocal is awesome and full of character. The singing has great tones and texture, as well as dynamics, and the lyrical melody really brings the song to life. The end guitar solo is especially satisfying, serving as the perfect culmination of all the driving energy that has been building throughout the track. As the fourth single from Laveda’s much-anticipated second LP, “Troy Creeps” is a strong indication of the quality of music that is to come. With its engaging melodies, driving rhythm, and memorable hooks, this track is just amazeballs.

Like what you hear? You can pre-order their LP, A Place You Grew Up In, due out April 14th.
