Tim Sorbs - “junebug”

Tim Sorbs wrote a lullaby for the daughter of a friend, then decided to record it for the rest of the world. The song is called “junebug” and we are delighted to feature it on the blog.

For those of you looking to be swept away on a cinematic carpet ride, look no further than this wonderful song. The track begins in quite an etherial manner before the soft strums of an acoustic light the path for the lyrics. Sorbs has a voice that resides primarily in a lovely falsetto as he serenades the listener away to a place where all of one’s troubles and stressors seem to completely melt away.

The track is magnificently sparse in its production, with wonderful layers of reverberated guitars spread across some soft, brushy percussion. The way that “junebug” has been glued together makes it appear timeless in its sound– it could easily be a song that has been discovered among the contents of some long-lost time capsule from the ‘50s, but it also completely holds its own among the music of today.

junebug” is dreamy and endearing and it’s bound to find its way into the playlists that folks listen to when winding down from the daily grind. However, we’re willing to bet that it sounds just as good in the morning, with that first cup of coffee. There’s really only one way to find out (this is the part where you press play).
