Thrillhouse - “Still In There Somewhere”

Brighton-based alternative indie band Thrillhouse have just released the superb sounds of “Still In There Somewhere.”

The diverting performance of a reverberated guitar begins this number with a melodic lick that will instantly captivate listeners. It proceeds to imbue the track with its melodious sound, even after the rest of the band have arrived. Complete with a moderately-paced rhythm section, “Still In There Somewhere” is the kind of track that causes you to subconsciously tap your feet– likely, even after the song has ended.

The reverb does not begin and end with the guitar, which will be quite obvious upon the arrival of the vocals. The lyrics are delivered in a manner that is very modern, conjuring the spirit of such artists as The War on Drugs, Kings of Leon, and The National. And once their smooth sound has filled your ears, it is difficult to imagine the song working as well as it does with any other style of vocal.

While “Still In There Somewhere” comfortably resides within the realm of indie rock, the ride is so smooth that we also foresee it doing well amongst fans of dream pop. It does not sacrifice itself in order to fall into any one niche, and we imagine that it would work quite wonderfully as the soundtrack to those late-night drives to nowhere, which just so happens to be where we consume most of our music.
