Rum Buffalo - “Spark Dreamer”

Spark Dreamer,” by Rum Buffalo is a truly unique and energetic track that will leave a lasting impression on the listener. While this style of music may not be for everyone, it is certainly up my street. The 8-piece band’s eclectic style and use of unconventional sounds make this song stand out from the rest.

Spark Dreamer” is addictive, with a pulsing rhythm and uniquely soulful vocals that are complemented by distorted guitars, backing vocals, and effects. The sounds create a vivid and unpredictable atmosphere that is both chaotic and beautiful. The band’s mastery of musical instruments is evident throughout the song, making it clear that they are not afraid to push the boundaries of traditional music. For me, a comparison to “Tomorrow Never Knows,” by The Beatles, is spot on, as the song has a similar experimental and bold feel. But it sounds like, this time, Ringo was on the drugs with the rest of them, instead of learning to play chess and eating baked beans.

The addition of what seems to be a saxophone brings to mind the early works from The Verve. The bass is particularly noteworthy, as it acts as the glue that holds the entire song together. The more I listen to “Spark Dreamer,” the more I am impressed by Rum Buffalo’s ability to create such a rich and intricate soundscape. Their forthcoming album, Bloodmoon, is sure to be a tour-de-force of sound and energy, and I cannot wait to hear it.
